About Bruno's Cards
A family of makers.
In my family, love mostly showed up as something made by hand. A doodle on the newspaper at breakfast could turn, by that afternoon, into a birthday card nobody ever forgot. Add the smell of something baking, football on the TV, Neil Diamond on the 8-track — and that was our house. There was plenty of banter and laughter mixed in — that was how Irish love got shown: you made the thing yourself, and you shared it with the ones you love.
Bruno's Cards captures those feelings, so you can hand a little of that to someone else, all year round.
My dad, Bruno, has always been the creative one — with family, with friends, at work. He's made cards for every occasion. For years, he put out a newsletter for his Fishing With Cool buddies that was so polished they swore it came off a printing press, when in fact the whole thing was created in his home office. And let's not forget the presentations he was building before PowerPoint was even an app. What he's really got is the eye, the humor, and a lifetime of knowing exactly what belongs inside a card.
Here's the thing we never forget: someone is going to open this card. That's the moment we want to share with you — standing in front of the rack, picking this one out of all of them, sitting down to write a few words inside by hand. The pause, the choosing, the note only you would get — that's the whole point. You can't buy it and you can't fake it. It's priceless. So it ought to be a good one.
That's what you're holding when you hold one of these: a card made with a real sense of humor and a stubborn belief that the thing you make means more than the thing you buy.
If a card makes you laugh, or pause, or pick up the phone, it's done its job. Send it on.
